This year Run to the Sun is entering its 20th year and has grown into one of the largest VW, Custom Car and Dance events in the Europe. When the festival was launched 19 years ago in 1987 only 70 cars turned up, but it has continued to grow in size each year. Now thousands of car and music enthusiasts from across the UK and beyond travel to Trevelgue Holiday Park in Newquay to indulge in this annual festival which attracts over 100,000 people to Newquay.
The introduction of the legendary main arena in 1996 proved to be a big success and has played host to the world's top DJ's over the years. The indoor swimming pool is transformed every year into a 6000 capacity dance arena, complete with visuals to impress the crowd.
Run to the Sun 2005 proved to be one of the biggest so far. Over 10,000 people visited Trevelgue Holiday Park and 25,000 to the Show n Shine, making it the hottest festival in the Southwest. Hot! Hot! Hot! 3 days of non-stop entertainment and some of the finest cars and DJ's you will ever see.
This year Cranstar Event Management are pulling out all the stops to make sure her 20th birthday goes with a bang!
As usual the sexy boys from Volksworld will be organising the cruise and leading you down from London straight to sunny Newquay on the Friday.
SO WHAT'S ON? 
We have 3 days and 3 nights of top class entertainment, including the latest dance tunes and the classic oldies. Nothing can prepare you for the pumping main arena that holds 6000 people.
Cranstar Events have teamed up with Virus Events to produce another outstanding line-up in the Main Arena. This year the Main Arena will host some of the finest DJ's. Friday night will feature the Plump DJ's and the Freestylers DJ's. Saturday night will be a hard dance night featuring Mauro Picotto and Scott Project. Sunday night plays host to the legendary Marco V. Virus residents Ben McGowan and Ian Mckenzie will also be playing over the weekend. The stage will also show live performances including dancers and many more sexy performers.
Arena 3 will be hosting a variety of top class comedians and live bands; we will have 2 hours of stand up comedy each night as well as live music from the likes of Genghis Khant, Point Blank, Not the Beatles and many more. Keep checking the website for further details.
Arena 2 will host a variety of DJ's playing a mixture of the latest pop anthems, don’t forget your Afro on Sunday night as we have the ultimate 70's night.
For those of you wild clubber's who need to take the weight off you feet, make your way to the chill out tent, where we will have a variety of DJ's playing some mellower funky music.
Our Waves bar will be open during the daytime from 11am; you will also be able sun yourself, meet with friends or just relax in our beer garden!
SHOW 'N' SHINE 
The main show is held on the Sunday at Tregunnel Car Park in Newquay. This is where you get the chance to put your baby on full view alongside some of the finest cars in Europe. Volksworld magazine and the NASC (National Association of Street Clubs) will be judging the competition and giving away cash prizes and trophies donated by Trevelgue Holiday Park.
